International programs
Legacy has been one of our organization's priorities from the very beginning. Our main function is to lead the co-ordination between Swedish and Russian special organizations (not based on GC organizations). We worked out the methodology of an information system for clean-up work in Estonian territory and have co-operated with governmental organizations concerning this work.
Estonia is a small country and so it is better do to things in co-operation with others. Everything that has been described above is done in close collaboration with national programmes.
Communication & events
One of the functions of GC Estonia that has attained great importance is the co-ordination of other non-governmental organizations in the field. We are members of the Round-Table of Scientific Societies that has had several gatherings. Finished works are mostly all scientific. There have been several articles in special collections and booklets of sustainable development and nature use. Three articles, about the UN Conference "Environment and Development", agriculture, transit and sustainable development in Estonia, were commissioned by the editors of a new collection "Estonia in the 21st Century – Strategies for Development, Visions, Choices" and subsequently published.
