International Conference on Environmental Education in MoscowEvery year, Green Cross Russia organizes an international conference on environmental education. The conference seeks reform of the educational system to promote sustainable development in Russia and abroad, raise public awareness about the state of the environment and promote healthier living standards. This year the 16th edition of this conference will be held 25-26 June 2010 in Moscow, Russia. The Conference will look at the progress made during the Education for Sustainable Development Decade, analyze the existing problems and influencing factors and define ways to increase efficiency.
In 2009, the 15th Conference was held at the International Independent Ecological-Political University (IIEPU) in Moscow, Russia from 27 to 28 June. Discussions were held regarding the relationship of education to energy, health, environmental safety, protection of wildlife, water and organic farming.
