Global Green is building a sustainable low-income housing community for New Orleans ravaged Ninth Ward, that consists of five single-family homes as well as an 18 unit apartment complex. The homes will save the residents an estimated $1200 to $2400 a year in utility bills, through rain water harvesting, geothermal, solar and other systems. Global Green has just finished one single-family home and has four more to go - and an 18 unit apartment building - to help families who lost their homes, and set a new standard for healthy, energy-efficient affordable housing in New Orleans, and the country.
